Minsk Bar

Minsk Bar Danang

This cozy reggae-themed bar is located in the An Thuong area and has become very popular amongst both expats and locals. Due to its location, Minsk Bar is the perfect place to relax with a few cold beers or play some foosball with friends after a long day at the beach.

Although the presence of Bob Marley murals and Jamaican colours would suggest it, reggae music is not the main genre played here. Instead, you will hear a nice mix from rock classics to some softer EDM music.

If you are  a fan of Live music,  just sipping cool drinks, enjoy the repertoire of the band – even the friends of their own performances on the stage. On the radio is one of those types!

If you like a romantic atmosphere, or ballads are loving; Come here on regular evenings (after 8:30 pm – Monday to Friday). And Saturday evening is really a rocky feast for the loyal followers! Simple Man Bar

Top 10 best bars and night clubs in Da Nang, vibrant nightlife.

Simple Man is located just next to The Golden Pine but aimed at a more mature crowd. The music styles are diverse and we have had drinks to a whole night of Boney M., as well as Vietnamese rock music from the 70s, German house or American punk rock à la Green Day.

Friendly staff, good cocktails and overall welcoming atmosphere are what makes Simple Man one of our favourite bars in Da Nang.

Tips: There is also World Cup 2018 large Screen TV sharing  for who is fan of football.

Bamboo Bar Da Nang

Top 10 best bars and night clubs in Da Nang, vibrant nightlife.

Bamboo Bar 2 has become the most popular expat hangout in Da Nang over the years. So much so that the ground floor is usually overcrowded with no tables or seats available for newcomers. If you don’t like Electronic Dance Music however, then Bamboo Bar is one of the few places in the city centre you will be able to enjoy.

The top floor is equipped with pool tables and a great seating area with good views of the Han River and the Dragon Bridge which makes this place a good starting point for a night out in Da Nang.

Address: 216 Bạch Đằng, Phước Ninh, Đà Nẵng

Sky 36

Top 10 best bars and night clubs in Da Nang, vibrant nightlife.

The most popular rooftop bar in Da Nang is located at Novotel and offers stunning views of the Han River and the dragon bridge. With cocktails starting at 120.000 VND , a night at Sky 36 can get a little pricey real quick. It’s totally worth checking this place out for the view alone, even if you are on a budget.

Golden Pine

Top 10 best bars and night clubs in Da Nang, vibrant nightlife.

The Golden Pine is probably one of the most famous bars in Da Nang. Loud electronic music and cheap drinks are what attracts the mostly young crowd to spend their nights here. On busy nights, patrons are blocking half the road outside the bar which makes for an interesting sight, especially since The Golden Pine is one of the few clubs in Da Nang, where people actually dance.

Address: Next to Starbuck Bach Dang, Hai Chau Dist, Da Nang

OQ Lounge Pub

‘’The DJs at OQ Bar know their stuff’’

We were a little bit irritated by the lighting at first but the good music provided by the DJs and DJanes as well as the friendly staff have made us come back to OQ Bar many, many times.

OQ Bar is great as the last place to visit during a night out. Sitting by the bar you are close to the DJ box and can watch the bar tenders juggling – more or less successfully – cocktail mixers. The atmosphere is really special and makes you feel as if you are partying amongst friends.

Address: 18 Bach Dang, Da Nang

Lost and Found Bar

Lost and Found Bar is the newest location in Da Nang and doesn’t really have much to offer for the western party-goer. The music is good and trendy . I would definitely recommend a visit for one drink though to experience the awesome laser show in this location.

Just like Golden Pine, the people there is actually dance, sometime they also perform the fire dance at the street.

Address: 28 Bach  Dang St, Hai Chau Dist, Da Nang

New Phuong Dong Club

The New Phuong Dong comes with music that will blast your eardrums and spectacular laser shows. Drinks are even more expensive here but at least they have a dance floor that some people were actually using when we visited.

Address: 20 Dong Da, Da Nang

Beaches in Da Nang: Discover the best beaches in the area

Da Nang has only recently become popular with visitors. Many resorts and hotels that are being built here only prove how much tourism has recently flourished in this part of Vietnam. One of the most popular attractions in Da Nang are its beautiful and quiet beaches. I must say that it was something that tempted me to come here in the first place. The perspective of living by the sea was irresistible.

The Southern Beaches

The southern beaches are the most popular ones in Da Nang. They are located by the road going from Son Tra Peninsula all the way to Hoi An. This big stretch of sand has been divided into few beaches: Pham Van Dong, My Khe, Bac My Anh and Non Nuoc. There is nothing really different between them and they all look more or less the same.

During the day the southern beaches are quiet and deserted. Da Nang is mostly popular among Asian tourists and those usually wait until it gets a little cooler and the sun is not as strong as white skin is the way to go in Asia. No one wants to get tanned here.

Beaches in Da Nang: Discover the best beaches in the area
Beautiful beach with many accommodations along

“One Day in Da Nang” is the essential guide for a short trip to Vietnam’s most vibrant city. This handy ebook guide includes the most fun and interesting things to see in Da Nang as well as recommendations for best beaches, restaurants, cafés and accommodation. Make the most out of your trip and Find out more!

In the evening the beaches become crowded. Tourists flock in and the locals come to cool down with their families. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, it is better to enjoy the sun between 11 am and 3 pm.

These beaches are nothing like the ones you see in Thailand or other Asian countries. There are no palm trees and nowhere to hide from the burning sun. Your only option here will be deck chairs, hidden under umbrellas, that you can rent from one of the little bars on the beach. A whole day costs 40,000 VND. At some of the beaches parking a scooter costs from 2,000 to 4,000 VND.

Son Tra Peninsula

If you have a scooter you can find some better options at Son Tra Peninsula. Beaches here are more serene and quiet, even in the evenings and afternoons. Tien Sa, Bai But and Bai Rang offer calm, blue waters and golden sand.

Be prepared to pay for your stay at those beaches. Normally it costs around 25,000 VND per person, plus you need to order a drink at the bar, located on the beach.

Other beaches, like Bai Bac, Bai Nam and Bai Con, are mostly closed for tourists as they are private properties of expensive resorts. I read somewhere that you can go there, order a drink and stay as long as you want, but we were turned away when we wanted to enter one of them.

Personally, I get annoyed every time I am asked to pay to stay on a beach, or I’m not allowed to enjoy them because they are someone’s property. Paying almost $2 for sitting on a beach is also a little too expensive in my opinion. I have travelled to many countries, but I have never seen anything like this before. Vietnam is a totally different world when it comes to tourism.

The Northern Beaches

To explore the northern beaches of Da Nang you need a scooter. Lang Van Beach, Xuan Thieu Beach and Thanh Binh Beach are all located close to the Hai Van Mountain and Hai Van Pass. They are less popular with locals and visitors and therefore ideal for water sports and some relaxing time.

Only the last one lacks facilities for tourists and there are no bars, nor umbrellas to lay under. You won’t be asked to pay for your stay here either. The two other ones are also private properties, therefore a charge of 40,000 VND applies.

The beaches in and around Da Nang might not be the most beautiful and picturesque in Asia, but they are definitely the cleanest I have seen in the region. There is no rubbish lying around and no plastic bottles floating in the water. That’s a really surprising thing in Vietnam. It is actually a pleasure to swim in the sea and relax on the clean sand here.

The last thing worth knowing is that some locals here are still not used to seeing women in bikinis. I witnessed a couple of times men taking photos of white women on the beach. Some ask if they can snap a picture, some don’t. It doesn’t happen that often, but when it does you can simply tell them to stop. Most of the time they feel embarrassed and go away.

Danang In Top Greenest Cities By WWF

The three cities Danang, Hoi An (Quang Nam province) and Dong Ha (Quang Tri), together with 37 other cities from all over the world are in the finale of We Love Cities competition 2017-2018 by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).

Danang In Top Greenest Cities By WWF

Top 40 cities in the finale were chosen from 132 cities of 23 countries in the world, convincing the judges by their commitments and specific programs to reduce their carbon footprint in development process, especially in traffic – the main topic of this competition.

The judges are experts on sustainable cities, who will choose the cities with most feasible and ambitious action plans on climate change. These plans must contribute to accomplishing the goals of Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

This year, the judges pay special attention to cities with goals and objectives for sustainable traffic – a challenge for all cities in the world . Resources and current situations of each city will be taken into consideration to ensure a fairness in judging process. Being in the finale, the 3 candidates of Vietnam will continue to participate in “I Love Cities” campaign from 7 May to the end of June 2018.

All global citizens can vote for their favourite cities, share photos and write about their stories with the cities. This is also an online platform for the public to raise their ideas and opinions for a greener and more sustainable city. The cities with the highest votes by the public will be tittled “The most favourite green city in the world”.

This is the second time Vietnam is participating in this competition. In 2016, Hue received The National Green City title.

The rise of metropolitans in the world, together with the boom in urban population has resulted in many urban issues. However, the cities are where ideas can be developed and realized to satisfy the needs of urban life, without exhausting the resources of our planet.

I Love Cities were created with the aim to encourage sustainable ideas in urban planning, sustainable trafic and alternative resources, attracting the participation of many cities and inspiring other cities in the world.

You can vote for the 3 cities of Vietnam at:

www.welovecities.org/da-nang   (to vote for Danang), or

www.welovecities.org/dong-ha   (to vote for Dong Ha), or

www.welovecities.org/hoi-an        (to vote for Hoi An).

The awards ceremony will be organized at the end of this year.

6 Best Activities In Da Nang

The best activities in Da Nang offer a new perspective of the bustling coastal town for travellers of any age, personality and lifestyle. Thanks to numerous tour operators found within the city centre, you can easily visit and enjoy fun things to do in Da Nang’s countryside and verdant mountains. Adventure lovers get to cruise along Vietnam’s highest pass on high-powered motorbikes while Da Nang’s iconic war sites and museums are great for travelling history buffs. If you prefer staying within the comforts of Da Nang City, there’s still plenty of fulfilling activities that don’t put a huge dent in your wallet. Read on for our list of the most popular things to do in Da Nang, all of which are well-worth the time during your holiday.

1 Vietnam War Tour to the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)

Located 120km north of Da Nang, the old Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) is popular for fans of military history as it is possible to see hundreds of weapons, artillery and military tanks left behind by foreign troops. Prominent sites within DMZ include the Rockpile, Dakrong Bridge, Hamburger Hill, Ho Chi Minh Trails, Khe Sanh, Lang Vay Special Forces Camp, and Vinh Moc Tunnels. While the DMZ is located closer to Hue, there are plenty of tour companies offering roundtrips from Da Nang City. Tours start from USD80 upwards for two people, which is inclusive of hotel transfers, an English-speaking guide, lunch, refreshments, and entrance fees to all military sites.

2 Da Nang Off-Road Tours

Da Nang off-road tours take you on a jungle trail to traditional villages, ornate pagodas, and iconic war remnants along the way. You are chartered via jeep or 4WD towards Marble Mountain, which houses rare wildlife species, limestone caves, and Buddhist temples. The next stop is Monkey Mountain to visit Linh Ung Pagoda, Ban Co Peek, Son Tra View Tower, and a 1960s army radar station that offers a panoramic view of Da Nang city and the bow-shaped coastline of Da Nang Bay. Priced at USD200 onwards, there are also off-road tours to other locales in Da Nang such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of My Son, My Lai, and Quy Nhon.

3 Surfing

Surfing is one of the most popular activities in Da Nang thanks to its warm climate and expansive beaches with great waves. Surf season is between the months of September and March, with an average water temperature of 25. My Khe Beach and Non Nuoc Beach are popular spots for a wide array of recreational activities, and there are plenty of surf and stand-up paddling classes available for inexperienced visitors. Guided by English-speaking trainers, these lessons take approximately two hours and are inclusive of soft surfboards and rash vests.

4 Cooking Classes

Cooking classes are conducted in five-star hotels and popular local restaurants in Da Nang, where you’ll get a hands-on approach in preparing traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Priced at USD5o onwards, each class is inclusive of a brief introduction to Vietnamese-style cooking techniques and a visit to the local market to shop (and bargain) for fresh ingredients, produce, meats, herbs and spices. Guided by an English-speaking trainer, you’ll learn how to cook authentic Da Nang dishes such as banh xeo, cao lau, my quang, and tuna braised in claypot.

5 Spa Treatment

A pampering spa treatment is the perfect end to a day of exploring Da Nang City and beyond. The coastal town’s numerous five-star resorts such as The Holiday Spa & Massage are fitted with luxurious spa centres that offer an array of body wraps, scrubs and massages, as well as reflexology and facial treatments. Alternatively, you can also opt for standalone Da Nang spa centres which are scattered throughout the city centre – some of our favourite (and budget-friendly) outlets include Sense Spa, Charm Spa, and Queen Spa.

6 Hai Van Pass Motorcycle Tours

Hai Van Pass motorcycle tours are popular amongst thrill-seeking motorcyclists as the Vietnam’s highest pass boasts sudden curves and blind corners, not forgetting gorgeous views of Da Nang Bay. Standing at 500m above sea level Hai Van Pass is located on the border between Thua Thien-Hue Province and Da Nang City, housing Tran Dynasty’s Hai Van Gate, Hai Van Tunnel (ASEAN’S longest tunnel), and a decrepit French-built fort. Do note that Hai Van Pass motorcycle tours can be challenging for new riders – expect 25 kilometres of uphill slopes, an average temperature of 17°C, and rainy weather in the evening.
